The human species has been doing so well with advancements in medicine and technology, just to mention a couple. However, it is evident that the mindless infants of our society are bringing attention to a problem that really has no bad consequences. Sharing files is a form of freedom and it also helps promote the advancement of this world by bringing together common people and ideas that would never have met. The internet is a broad tool that allows the unique individual to find some common ground with his/her fellow man. The benefits of the internet can be stated in one simple example. There is a young man who is suffering from a major depressive disorder and is near the edge of his limits. Mentally and physically he is drained. He is secluded and finds no other source of support other than his computer and the internet. Through many nights of conversing in forums and chat rooms he begins to find people that are going through the same things and slowly he begins to accept this world as not a secluded torture box but somehow a vast playing field where one can experiment with his own physical and spiritual desires to find out what he/she may one day become. Avoiding suicide and other hurtful means allows this man to find a new sense of self worth and a new meaning to his life. Slowly he gains the effort to pick up his cross and walk that dreaded path of life. He now is looking to start a music career and is working towards medical school. The internet may seem as an impersonal experience but I tell you that if it wasn't for those people, who saw the internet as an actually meeting ground for those who are seeking to find people similar to themselves, that helped this young man make it through the rough times, then he would not be alive today.
This file sharing is a great way to connect the world, and I tell you what is more important MONEY or the FRIENDSHIPS and BONDS that the communicating and file sharing provide. Money will not help us advance as a human race, but friendships and human bonds will.
